Maths

This week for maths my LPG was number 10: identity fractions. Around half of the class that need a fresh up with fractions work with Mr Buckland and the people who are good with fractions work with Miss Hacket. Here is a photo of my work.

Reading this week

This week for reading I did a story sequence about a story called Game Over. My LPG I was trying to work on was number 5: I can evaluate and integrate ideas and information across a few texts. Here is a picture of my reading response.

Writing this week

This week for writing we have been learning how to write a persuasive pice of writing. Here is the writing I have done this week.

Maths this week

This week for maths I have been doing maths like 64 x 12 = ?
Here is how you work it out.

64 x 12 = ?
60    10.         60 x 10 = 600
                      60 x 2 = 120
                      4 x 10 = 40
4       2.           4 x 2 = 8

And that is my maths this week.

Highest Teeth

Recently Mr B has taught pod 5 a new maths game. It's called Highest Teeth. (Mr B didn't have a name for it so he asked me to make up a name for it so I asked my friend Addison to help me.) To draw it you need to draw in your maths book (I recommend to use a ruler and draw along the lines of your book) 4 squares along the top and 4 along the side, then you basically do an upside down staircase. Then someone will role a dice and whatever number it lands on you put in 1 of your boxes. Here is what it looks like.

In the end we called it HIGHEST TEETH

My Learning

This week my LPG that I chose is number 1 " I can select and use a variety of plans such as mindmaps and flowcharts to organise and generate ideas." This week we used a burger chart, it is a chart that is shaped as a burger. We used it so we can sort our writing out into paragraphs.
